Wednesday, December 6, 6–6:45 p.m. | Stiles Chapel (Level 2)
Christmas can be a painful time for some. It may be the first Christmas without a loved one who has recently died. It may be a time that has just always been difficult.
The constant refrain from the media, in shopping malls and in churches about the happiness of the season and spending time with family and friends reminds many of what they have lost or may have never had. The anguish of broken relationships, the insecurity of unemployment, the weariness of ill health, or the pain of isolation can make us feel very alone in the midst of all the celebrating. Some need the space and time to acknowledge the sadness and concern during the holidays, and to know that they are not alone.
Trinity will offer a special "Blue Christmas" service featuring sharing, prayer, scripture and music that acknowledge God's presence for those who struggle with the holidays and remind us all that God's Word shines light in our darkness. Everyone, regardless of church background (or lack of it) is welcome.
