(formerly Turnabout, Inc.)
What it is:
St. Francis Center Employment Services' (formerly known as Turnabout) purpose is to reduce the number of people returning to prison by increasing career and educational opportunities that promote self-sufficiency and end the cycle of poverty and crime. On top of the employment services we provide, we challenge clients to seek a strong spiritual awareness as a means to address and reverse the values and attitudes that lead to criminal thinking.
How you can help:
- Be a mentor, coordinate activities, develop and teach various classes (resumé, math, personal budgeting, computer basics) and/or provide assistive services like tax preparation.
- Call St. Francis Center directly to get involved. As St. Francis Center grows, we need continued financial support and many additional volunteers to serve in a variety of ways. Please view our website for opportunities.
The Trinity Connection:
In 1985 Turnabout, now St. Francis Employment Services, was conceived as an outreach ministry of Trinity United Methodist Church. Turnabout began as an outreach ministry to people on the streets by offering coffee, conversation, and job leads. In 1997, Turnabout greatly expanded its scope of services to ex-offenders and the homeless.
