Trinity's Care Ministry

giving and receiving

Trinity’s Care Ministry is about both receiving and giving care. We all experience seasons in our lives when things are not going as planned or as we would want them. In these times, we can lean on our faith community for support to get us through…and grow in the process. We also experience seasons of well-being and abundance during which we can show others the same care.

care for self and others

Christ followers seek to walk in Jesus’ footsteps, and Jesus modeled a spiritual life that included care for self and others. The Christian journey is one of pursuing spiritual growth and maturity as we allow the inner transformation of Christ’s love. The founder of Methodism, John Wesley, emphasized the importance of caring for one’s physical, mental, social, and financial health as a necessary part of being whole. The Book of Discipline of the United Methodist Church states that we are to “send persons into the world to live lovingly and justly as servants of Christ by healing the sick, feeding the hungry, caring for the stranger, freeing the oppressed, being and becoming a compassionate, caring presence, and working to develop social structures that are consistent with the gospel” (2016, ¶122). For these reasons, Trinity’s Care Ministry encourages personal whole health and care for the world as a vital piece of discipleship.
