Children & Communion
In The United Methodist Church, children are welcome to receive communion. Our Book of Worship explains,
"All who intend to lead a Christian life, together with their children, are invited to receive the bread and cup... Because the table at which we gather belongs to the Lord, it should be open to all who respond to Christ's love, regardless of age or church membership."
Sunday school children ages 4 and up return to the Sanctuary to receive communion on days that Trinity serves during the worship service. The children have learned in Sunday school why they are there, what to expect, and how to behave and be respectful when receiving the sacrament of Holy Communion. Parents are invited to join their own children at the communion rail during this time.
Please let Sunday school teachers or Allison Watkins know if you prefer that your child not receive communion.
