Trinity's punch card FAQ

1. What is the purpose of the punch card program?

The goal is to “make the world a smaller place” by building relationships and engaging with the Trinity community. This program encourages you to connect with others and deepen your spiritual life through regular and meaningful participation.

2. How do I participate?

Pick up a punch card at Trinity or download from this page. If you need assistance with downloading or would like a card emailed to you instead, email Communications Director, Marc Reyes at MReyes@trinityumc.org to receive a virtual card that way.

3. What activities count for a monthly punch?

· Participate in a Trinity Event:

• Worship Service
• Small Group
• Service Day
• Concert
• Social Event

· OR Build New Relationships:

• Have a conversation with someone at Trinity you’ve never met before.
• Text a Trinity friend and invite them out to lunch or dinner.
• Invite a friend to join you for worship or a Trinity event and introduce them to someone new.

4. What if I already engage in these ways more than once a month?

That’s fantastic! If you’re already connecting regularly to Trinity, consider this an opportunity to try something new by participating in a different group or event once a month. You can also get to know someone new or bring a friend to church to earn your punch.

5. What if I want to get more than one punch a month?

You’re in luck! We have a bonus card just for you. Pick up your bonus card and punch it anytime you come to worship or make a new friend!

6. What does a completed punch card get me?

The punch card is designed to give you the gift of deeper spiritual community and connection. But to make it even more exciting, complete the top half of the punch card (from October-March) to be eligible for exclusive Trinity swag—like T-shirts, cups, and more! Complete the bottom half (from April-September) for a second prize opportunity. Prizes will be awarded once every six months.

7. How will you know if I’ve earned my punches?

The punch card operates on an honor system. We trust you to punch your card only when you’ve engaged in the appropriate ways.

8. What if I’m not sure if I’ve earned a punch?

If you’re unsure whether something counts as a punch, feel free to ask any Trinity staff member. Generally, if it happened at Trinity or with Trinity people, it probably counts!

9. Do I punch my card, or do you?

You can punch or mark off your card from home or bring it to Trinity and receive a punch from a staff member or in the fellowship hall or sanctuary.

10. What if I participate in events with our Trinity partners?

While we greatly appreciate your engagement with our community partners, for the punch cards, we are focusing on Trinity sponsored events. If you have questions, please ask a staff member.

11. Do virtual events count?

Yes! While we’d love to see you in person, attending a virtual event also counts toward your punch card.

12. What if I miss a month?

If you miss a month, you can go back and watch one of the online worship services from the month you missed to make up for an engagement punch. Don’t forget to comment on the video!

13. What if I’m a virtual member? Can I still participate?

Absolutely! Download your card(s) from this page or we can mail you a physical card if you prefer. Then, attend any of our virtual events online and get a punch!

14. How do I redeem my punch card?

The first opportunity to redeem your punch card will be in March/April of 2025.
