Ashes to Homebound

Services

Sunday Worship services 9am & 11am

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Lenten season, a period of reflection, repentance, and preparation for Easter. The application of ashes in the form of a cross on the forehead serves as a powerful symbol of mortality, humility, and the need for God's grace.

As we approach this significant day in the Christian calendar, we are committed to ensuring that every member of our community, including the homebound, can partake in the sacred observance of Ash Wednesday.

How can you participate? We invite each member of our congregation to consider joining this initiative in two ways:

  1. Indicate Your Interest in Receiving Ashes
If you are homebound and unable to attend the Ash Wednesday service in person and would like to receive ashes at your doorstep, please indicate your interest by emailing Mary Soroka at msoroka@trinityumc.org

  1. Volunteer to Deliver Ashes
Volunteer to bring ashes to the homes of our fellow congregation members in the days leading up to Ash Wednesday. Ashes will be available for pick up on Sunday February 23 and March 2 before or after worship in the Sanctuary. Ashes need to be delivered between March 2 and March 5. If you feel called to be a part of this meaningful act of service, please sign up to volunteer by emailing Mary Soroka at msoroka@trinityumc.org
